The rocket was launched at about 3:45 pm with an audience of thousands cheering through SpaceX’s live stream.
What makes this launch special, other than it being done by a private institution, SpaceX has become the first company to reuse rocket boosters in order to bring down the cost of spaceflight.
They accomplish this by detaching the boosters at some point during the flight and using thruster to guide them back into Earth’s atmosphere.
The rocket is not the only thing orbiting in space at the moment, along with the rocket a red Tesla was sent with it, a stylish touch on Elon Musk’s part.
President Trump congratulated Elon Musk and the team at SpaceX and yes you guessed it, Trump did this through a tweet.
This accomplishment from SpaceX is one that will not be soon forgotten, history was made and there is an excitingly bright future ahead of them.
