Did anybody on Earth really think that Tom Brady and the New England Patriots wouldn’t be representing the AFC in the Super Bowl again? If not, those people are delusional Jaguar fans, or just tired of the dynasty continuing. This year, the team that is tasked with upsetting the Patriots are the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, they are missing their franchise quarterback Carson Wentz. Without Wentz under center, the general public has already brushed off the Eagles as threats to the Patriots. Philadelphia will come out as underdogs, and make the championship game way closer than many expects. The defense ran by Jim Schwartz plays motivated and they’re loaded with stars on the defensive line. If Nick Foles can continue his high level play and protect the football the Eagles will have a fighting chance. Here are each teams keys to victory:

New England’s Keys to Victory:

The most obvious key to the Patriots repeating as champions might not be as obvious as you think. Of course Tom Brady is the best player on that team and on the field in general, but Rob Gronkowski is the biggest X-factor for the Patriots. Last year, Gronk was unable to participate in the Super Bowl due to an injury, something that almost repeated itself this year. In order to guarantee a New England victory, they must get the ball to Gronk early and often. There’s nobody in the NFL that can guard Gronkowski due to his elite athleticism, and superb ball skills. I expect Brady to find his favorite target twice in the endzone and for number 87 to have over 100 receiving yards.

Philadelphia’s Keys to Victory:

Even with Carson Wentz at the quarterback, the Eagles would still be the heavy underdog. Replace Wentz with Nick Foles and well.. thank God for that defensive front. Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Timmy Jernigan, and Vinny Curry make up the best defensive line in the NFL. If they don’t put pressure on Brady, there’s no chance the Eagles win this game. I do expect Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox to get home to Brady a couple of times, but if they do it consistently throughout the game, the Eagles will love their chances.

FINAL PREDICTION:

This game will end closer than any people think, and I myself am stuck between a two score Patriot victory, and a Jake Elliot game winning field goal for Philly. All in all, it will be a physical match up that will be decided up front up until the fourth quarter. Simply put, there’s no stopping Tom Brady when it’s crunch time. To beat the Patriots, you must keep Brady on the sideline and pound the rock, which fortunately, is Philadelphia’s bread and butter since Wentz went down. Throughout my 18 years of life, i’ve learned that three things are inevitable: death, taxes, and Tom Brady showing up to perform on the grandest stage of them all. There’s just no way I can pick against the Patriots.

Eagles: 24

Patriots: 35
