Since the release of Bodak Yellow, Cardi B has proven herself to be a sick recording artist on top of her reality TV star image, with the release of G-Eazy’s No Limit, and her most recent feature “Motor Sport,” the first single of the Culture 2 album, with Nicki Minaj, by Migos- Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset… her new fiancé!!!
At this point, fans don’t know whether to be more excited about her teaming up with Nicki, her long term boo, or both! There’s multiple reasons for why this song was bound to be good.
By collaborating with Nicki, the rumors of the two sharing bad blood were finally put to rest. The feud, wholeheartedly construed by the media, ended with Nicki congratulating Cardi, along with recent tweets on her behalf regarding the struggle of female rappers in a predominantly male industry.
It’s dope to see two powerful women like themselves- Nicki, who broke the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries ever held by a woman, and Cardi, who became the first female rapper ever to reach #1 on the charts- not give into the negativity, stick together, and get the job done.
As for Offset, Cardi, who calls herself ‘The Trap Selena’, throws a few references to their budding relationship in the lyrics of her rap verse. They released the single in perfect timing, coherent to their engagement when Offset proposed to her at a show on Friday.
