With the days getting colder and leaves beginning to fall off trees. Autumn is here. As I was looking on my Amazon account, I was searching for a movie to match the feel of the change of the season. What I found was an amazing anime film called The Boy and the Beast.
The Boy and the Beast was directed by Mamoru Hosoda. He also dieredted another favorite movie of mine, Wolf Children. The story follows an orphan named Kyuta. His mother has passed away, and he was left on his own. While running away from a police officer, he runs into Kumatetsu, a warrior beast in search of a new apprentice. After seeing that there is no one to take care of the the boy, Kumatetsu decides to take him to the beast world. Even with their constant arguing, they grow an amazing relationship. After some years past Kyuta is a has grown up. Now he must decide whether to stay in the beast world or return to the humans That’s all I can say without spoiling the movie.
This movie, like it’s predecessor, is filled with vivid artwork and smooth animation. This story will pull at your heartstrings. The soundtrack matches the tone of movie perfectly. If you are ever bored during a fall night, I totally suggest watching The Boy and The Beast.
